Take Care of Your Hair Weave

If you are planning to use, or are already using hair weave, it’s important for you to know how to take care of it. Here are some tips that you have to keep in mind!

Always remember to brush Hair Weave before washing, and before going to bed, just to make sure that there won’t be any tangles, and that the hair would look strong, and beautiful at all times!

Use warm water for washing. Using extremely cold water would only damage the hair, and strip off even your hair weave’s natural oils.

When shampooing the weave, it’s best to make use of sulfate-free and organic shampoo so that the hair’s natural oils would not be diminished. Using organic or sulfate-free shampoo is also essential because they keep the hair from drying out.

When washing the hair, make sure to do it in a downward motion, and remember not to bunch or scrub it. Doing so would make cuticles rub each other, because of friction, and because the act of scrubbing or bunching will cause them to open.

Add 2 to 3 drops of coconut or almond oil while the hair is still wet. Apply it gently all over your hair, as well as the weave. Doing this would give the hair a lot of moisture, and prevent the cuticles from opening up to do further damage.

Make sure to rinse once or twice between each hair wash, and make sure to use cold water for rinsing. This way, the cuticles will be closed so that nutrients and moisture would easily be absorbed by the hair. This method is called the Arctic Rinse, and is one of the things you have to remember when it comes to caring for your Hair Weave!

Now, it’s time to let your hair dry! It would be best to do it at home, and to use the air-drying method. This means that after washing the hair for around 2 to 3 hours, you’d just let it dry naturally. Don’t use blowers or heaters—they would damage the hair!

Again, apply some coconut or almond oil. Another 2 to 3 drops would do the trick. If you feel like the hair is still frizzy, or you want to style it, it would be best to massage some Argan Oil in, but don’t use it too much because it doesn’t have the moisturizing effects that coconut or almond oil do.

And finally, don’t forget to keep moisturizing your hair. Make it a part of your daily routine. Think of it as moisturizing your skin. You have to make sure that it gets done so that your hair and the hair weave would stay at their best, even in the long run!

After all, if you want to keep looking your best, you have to make sure that you do not just neglect the things that make it easy for you!
